A score sheet keeps everyone honest. Choose a plain table for any game, or start from a preset that matches a scoring style, such as a truco tally or a tarneeb bid column.
How to play
- Choose a preset, or pick custom columns and set the number of players.
- Type your own column names if you want them, one per line.
- Write each round's points in its row as the round finishes.
- For tally boards, draw one stroke for each point: four upright strokes, then a diagonal across them, for every five points.
- Add the points up at the bottom, and stop when a team or player reaches the target.
Tips
- Print two pads per page for a quick score sheet for two tables.
- Use the names field to put team or player names in the column headers before printing.
- Keep a pencil with an eraser near the table, so mistakes are easy to fix.
- Check the target before you start. Agree on it with everyone who is playing.
Where it comes from
Truco is played in Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil, where a game is often 30 points tallied as drawn squares of five, and Truco Paulista in Brazil is played to 12 points. Baloot is popular in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, where scores are written in columns labelled لنا and لهم and a common game ends at 152, while tarneeb is played in the Levant, often to 41. Belote is a classic French game often played to 1000 or 501 points, and mahjong scoring varies by region.

Questions
What does a tally square mean?
Each square stands for five points. Draw four upright strokes and then a diagonal across them to make a full square. Partial squares are fine for the points that are not yet complete.
Why are some presets set to a specific number of points?
Each preset starts with the target that is commonly used for that game, such as 30 for truco or 152 for baloot. You can change it in the target field, up to 12 characters.
Can I use my own names for the columns?
Yes. Type one name per line in the column names box, up to eight names of up to 20 characters. Names replace the default labels, and any text in any script can be used.
Does mahjong have one scoring system?
No. Mahjong scoring varies by region and by table, so the mahjong preset is a plain layout with four seats and a score and total line for each round.
