## How to play

1. Set up the sheet: enter the prize and draw details, then choose the first number and how many tickets you need.
2. Print one test sheet on plain paper and check the size and the stub layout before printing on your final paper.
3. Cut out the tickets along the solid lines, then tear the stubs apart along the dashed line.
4. Sell tickets. Write the buyer's name and phone number on the stub, then give the buyer the ticket.
5. Keep the stubs together in a box or bag for the draw. At the draw time, pick a stub and record the winning number.

## Tips

- Check the local rules before you sell tickets. Some places need a permit or limit prizes and sales.
- Thicker paper or card makes tickets easier to handle and harder to lose.
- Keep the prize line short and clear, so people can read it from across the room.
- At the end of sales, count the stubs against the numbers you printed, so you know no ticket is missing.

## Where it comes from

Raffles are a common way for schools, clubs and community groups to raise money. Buyers take a numbered ticket for a chance to win a prize, and a winning number is drawn at a set time. Rules for raffles and lotteries differ between countries and regions, so check local rules before you sell tickets.

## Questions

### Do I need permission to hold a raffle?

It depends on where you are. Check local rules: some places require a permit or limit prizes and sales. Paperoom does not give legal advice.

### How are the numbers printed?

Each ticket and its stub carry the same number, zero-padded to at least three digits so the numbers line up. Arabic sheets use Arabic-Indic digits.

### Does Paperoom take payments or registrations?

No. It only prints the tickets. Record sales and payments yourself.

### Can I print tickets without stubs?

Yes. Turn off stubs to print full-width tickets without the tear line.
